HEY MIKE! I just returned from a big youth event, and I’m really fired up. But I don’t know who to witness to since I go to a Christian school. It’s 99-percent filled with Christian kids. Also, I’m really shy around strangers. What should I do?

The most important part of every Christian camp is what happens after it ends. It doesn’t do any good to get fired up if you’re going to come home and fizzle out.
I really appreciate the fact that you want to hold fast to the ground you gained at camp. That shows a determination to make your experience a milestone instead of a tombstone.
Don’t feel that your witness is wasted just because you go to a Christian school. We share our faith as a way of bringing glory to God. This means sharing it 24/7—at school, at the mall, at church, at home.
Also, you can never really be sure how many people at your school know Jesus. You know as well as I do that going to a Christian school doesn’t make you a Christian any more than walking into a hen house means you can lay eggs. Your job is to be faithful. Let God worry about how it impacts other people.
Finally, one of the most important places for you to maintain your walk with Christ is in your home. Too many “on fire” Christians freeze up when they walk in the front door of their house. The people at school see you part of the time, but your family has to share a TV, a kitchen and a bathroom with you! They are the ones who see you the most and know you the best. Think about two or three small steps you can take to show the people in your home what Jesus is doing in your life.
